“Meri Pahli Kavita” is not a poetry open mic. It is a gathering where poets revisit the earliest version of themselves.
The poems may be awkward – Immature, Overdramatic, Poorly written.
But they are honest, and honesty ages beautifully.
Important Points :
- Only your first poem or one of your earliest written pieces can be performed.
Recently written or polished work will not be accepted. This gathering is about celebrating beginnings, not perfection. - Please preserve the original emotion of the piece.
Avoid heavily rewriting or upgrading your old poem before performing it. Minor readability adjustments are fine, but the soul of the piece should remain untouched. - Every performance must include the story behind the poem.
When was it written? Why was it written? Who were you back then? The audience is here to witness the memory as much as the poetry. - Respect the room and the vulnerability of performers.
This is a listening-focused gathering. Please avoid interruptions, unnecessary noise, or disruptive behavior during performances. - The event will be photographed and recorded.
Photos and videos captured during the gathering may be used by The Social House for promotional and social media purposes.
